Global Manager of Technology Training & Enablement
The Global Manager of Technology Training & Enablement will lead the Firm's global technology enablement strategy from the New York office, while serving all offices worldwide. This is an in-office leadership role requiring a consistent, visible presence in New York, combined with regular virtual collaboration across the Firm's global platform. Reporting directly to the Director of Project Management Office, this role is responsible for modernizing how the firm trains and empowers lawyers and professional staff on Firm technology, innovation tools, AI-enabled platforms, and evolving digital workflows.
Sitting at the intersection of IT, Learning & Development, and Innovation, this role bridges the Firm's technology strategy and the people who use it every day. The Manager will partner closely with IT Leadership, Learning and Development, Practice Innovation, Legal Recruiting, HR, Knowledge Management, Risk, and other professional staff teams to design high-impact, modern learning experiences that are concise, practical, and immediately applicable to daily work.
A central focus will be ensuring training reflects the core legal technology stack as well as the latest legal technology trends, including generative AI, legal AI platforms, document automation, and collaboration tools. This person will serve as the face of technology learning and enablement at the Firm: a visible, approachable, and trusted presence known and accessible to stakeholders across all global offices.
Responsibilities
Strategy, Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead the global IT training function and develop a Firmwide technology enablement strategy aligned with business priorities, innovation agenda, and global operating model.
- Set the vision and roadmap for the enablement function in alignment with the Firm’s strategic priorities; provide regular updates on program outcomes, adoption metrics, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the Global Learning and Development team to integration technology training into the overall learning program for lawyers and professional staff to ensure a cohesive technology curriculum for all employees at all levels of the organization.
- Manage and develop the global IT training team, including setting priorities, resource planning, performance management, coaching and developing team members, and promoting consistent quality across regions.
- Partner with Learning and Development, Practice Innovation, IT, and Practice Development, to align training with the Firm's evolving technology environment, broader development programs, and technology rollouts.
- Partner with Risk, Information Security, General Counsel, and Innovation to ensure training on AI and emerging technologies incorporates responsible-use expectations, confidentiality, data security, ethics, and Firm-approved guidance.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, across the Firm's global offices, with partners, practice group leaders, and professional staff leadership.
- In conjunction with the Service Desk, analyze user support question patterns to identify areas potentially requiring refresher training and develop appropriate responses.
Technology & Enablement
- Develop and propose a global technology training strategy that defines programs for all levels of the organization incorporating remote, on-demand training offerings along with in-person offerings. Create a process for continually assessing the effectiveness of this strategy and areas for improvement.
- Evaluate the Firm's end-to-end IT training curriculum as it pertains to the proposed strategy, including new hire onboarding, summer and fall associate programs, lateral and partner onboarding, practice group training, and professional staff training.
- Create and deliver practical training on emerging technologies, including generative AI, document automation, workflow tools, and other Firm-approved applications. Collaborate with Practice Innovation to support AI adoption through training on system functionality, user experience, and workflows, complementing legal use-case instruction delivered by lawyer subject matter experts.
- Serve as a strategic advisor on technology adoption, helping project teams identify user impacts, training needs, and change-management considerations.
- Foster a culture of innovation by helping lawyers and staff build confidence with new tools through practical, use-case-driven training.
- Advise on change management strategies for technology deployments, including developing user communication plans and drafting instructive communications to stakeholders and end-users.
E-Learning & Content Design
- Develop modern, high-quality learning content, including short-form videos, microlearning, quick-reference guides, interactive demos, and targeted communications, using tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Synthesia, or similar platforms.
- Establish a content strategy that allows the Firm to quickly create, update, distribute, and retire training materials as applications, policies, and workflows evolve.
- Manage and curate content within the Firm's LMS, maintaining a global library that is current, accurate, and aligned with Firm policies.
Measurement & Vendors
- Establish measurable training goals and reporting: participation, learner satisfaction, adoption, content usage, and post-training effectiveness.
- Use data from the Service Desk, LMS, project teams, surveys, and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve programming; report regularly to the Director of Project Management Office and Firm leadership on outcomes and insights.
- Manage vendor relationships as needed, including outside training partners, content developers, video production partners, and learning platform providers.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced coursework in education, instructional design, technology, communications, or a related field preferred.
- Significant experience leading technology training, learning design, or technology adoption programs in a law firm, professional services firm, or similarly complex global environment.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to lead through influence in a matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to stay current on emerging technology trends, including generative AI, legal AI platforms, workflow automation, and collaboration tools.
- Experience creating modern digital learning content (short-form video, microlearning, interactive modules, scenario-based training) and using authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Camtasia, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar platforms.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, writing, and content-structuring skills, with the ability to make technical concepts clear and engaging for diverse audiences.
- Strong project-management skills and the ability to coordinate workstreams across multiple offices, time zones, and stakeholders.
- This is a hybrid role with a significant in-office component. The expectation is that the successful candidate will work from the office the majority of the workweek, with the flexibility to work remotely as determined by workload and in collaboration with the Director.
Preferred
- Experience training attorneys, including new hires, summer associates, laterals, partners, and senior lawyers.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, document management systems, legal AI platforms, and common law firm technologies.
- Familiarity with change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter).
- Experience with LMS administration, adoption analytics, or certification in instructional design, project management, change management, or legal technology is a plus.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $190,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including skills,
