Your Mission

As a Staff Backend Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping backend architecture, scaling systems, and driving critical engineering initiatives. You’ll collaborate with product and design teams, lead projects, and mentor engineers while helping build a world-class engineering culture.

• Architect and scale backend systems to support millions of users
• Lead critical technical projects with focus on performance and reliability
• Design and optimize data processing pipelines, distributed systems, and APIs
• Collaborate across teams to align technical work with business goals
• Mentor engineers and foster best practices
• Continuously improve system performance, observability, and maintainability

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong computer science fundamentals (algorithms, data structures, system design, optimization)
• Deep knowledge of backend technologies (databases, messaging systems, pipelines, orchestration)
• Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience
• Experience with large-scale data ingestion and processing systems
• Proficiency in Python
• Comfort working in an early-stage, high-growth environment with ambiguity
• [Bonus] Experience in fintech, crypto, or financial systems

• Scaling data ingestion & computation platforms to handle millions of transactions
• Building trade insights platforms that factor in history, fees, arbitrage, and slippage
• Implementing country-specific tax regulations for accurate, compliant reporting

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $210,000 – $240,000 USD (location does not affect range)
