Quality Assurance- AML Analyst

Within Compliance Operations, TSU is responsible for the monitoring and investigation of all post account opening and examination activities. Reporting to the Senior Team Leader, the Transaction Surveillance Unit (TSU) Analyst is responsible for performance assessments of the work produced by the TSU Department including reviewing alerts and trade-based money laundering reviews. The Analyst will verify the accuracy of the documentation and ensure that the information used to support the disposition is adequately supported and in accordance with the TSU Policies and Procedures Manual. The Analyst will identify, document and report findings to the Senior Team Leader.

  • Perform activities as required for second-level review in accordance with department standards.
  • Review closed alerts within the required time-frames and apprises management of any issues with quality and whether procedural guidelines are being followed.
  • Complete status reports to be used for training, Policy and Procedure updates and the ongoing enhancement of quality control processes. 
  • Implement appropriate changes to procedures based on new regulations, updates Policy and Procedure manuals, and keeps abreast of AML/BSA/OFAC regulations. May analyze statistical data for output and make recommendations for process improvement
  • Assure compliance with policies and procedures as well as AML/BSA/OFAC regulations
  • Collaborate with team leads to ensure quality and compliance for implementation of processes. 
  • Provide training to new staff.
  • Participate in other such tasks that may be required by the Company from time to time, including spot checks on continuous monitoring tasks.

  • Subject Matter Expert of legal aspects and record-keeping requirements of banking regulations relating to transaction surveillance (especially AML, BSA and OFAC)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both in verbal and written communications
  • Strong sense of urgency and accountability; ability to execute in a high pressure and time-sensitive environment
  • Strong propensity for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Preparing written reports
  • Ability to judge quality exceptions in-partially and consistently
  • 2 to 5 years of specialized experience in Financial Services
  • Transaction Surveillance and banking experience required

  • BA / BS (or equivalent experience)
  • CAMS or CFE required
