Sharepoint Knowledge Systems Associate

The Knowledge Systems Associate is in charge of managing content on the firm's SharePoint based intranet. This person is responsible for ensuring lawyers are able to access the needed information in a timely fashion.


The Knowledge Systems Associate must exhibit strong technical and organizational skills and have experience with Content Management Systems (CMS), specifically, SharePoint. The ideal applicant will be someone who can take responsibility for driving their own workstreams, and is able to balance multiple projects, prioritize tasks on a daily basis, and work well both independently and with other team members.


Responsibilities and duties


SharePoint responsibilities:
  • Commit to building technical knowledge of SharePoint
  • Collaborate with Information Services (IS) team on SharePoint strategy architecture development, governance, integration, and other aspects that support critical business needs
  • Create or manage varied sites, lists, views, pages and libraries on the client's SharePoint platform
  • Build understanding of various segments of users and make design decisions accordingly
  • Serve as thought partner to consulting staff to create effective content toolkits
  • Manage access (permissions) of content within the system
  • Train users at every level
  • Learn and share SharePoint best practices and processes with the firm


Knowledge management and support responsibilities:
  • Build knowledge of practices and tools, and develop general understanding of the internal workings of a major law firm.
  • Learn all aspects of content management process, and work with teams to gather and distribute content accordingly
  • Help teams find specific information or expertise as needed
  • Use growing knowledge base to guide thoughtful organization and classification of content and toolkits within the SharePoint system
  • Experienced SharePoint power-user. We are open to considering a candidate with strong technical skills and experience with an analogous CMS
  • Experience with content creation, permissions and site structure management with SharePoint as an intranet/knowledge platform
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master new software applications
  • Experience and comfort with technology and databases
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
